Valentines Day is fast looming & shop windows are full of Pink and Red Love themed items ready for people to start panic buying & purchase the same cliché gifts such as Chocolates, Flowers & a Card! So here’s a few ideas of the things I imagine any girl would love to receive. Remember though, it’s not Christmas – It’s about a romantic gesture and it doesn’t require a large Price Tag!
Favourite Jewellery
Every girl has a favourite type of jewellery they love to wear, so you can’t go wrong adding to the collection! Whether it’s a Charm to add to that Pandora bracelet, new Coin for a MiMonda chain, or an additional Alex and Ani Bangle! LOVE this Heart Wrap Bangle & it’s perfectly themed! I featured the Love Wrap Bangle in my Christmas Wishlist which would suit too!
Luxury Beauty Item
A luxury item that we may not have splashed out on yet but it’s on our Want List or a favourite product that’s soon to run out! Luxury Candle, Bath or Hair Products, or a Makeup Item is perfect, and shows that a guy has been really paying attention. The Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette is a great idea for a girl that loves all things makeup! Jo Malone is also a hit!
Favourite Flowers
Flowers can be Hit or Miss. And it can be hard not to be cliché about it too! A bouquet of Roses or a Single Rose is generally the traditional route and can be seen as a lazy way out unless you know that this is what a girl wants. I for one love Lilies, I also love a potted Orchid. Pay attention & suss it out! A Vase might be good shout too! I’m desperately lacking in them..!
Favourite Perfume
This also shows a guy has been paying attention! We love to smell good and generally have a range of scents to suit our mood, destination, season, time of day even – our excuses are endless! These Viktor Rolf, Thierry Mugler & Chanel Scents are my favs! Always on my shelf and feel lost if one of my go to smells is almost out! Also, Parfum over Toilette always.
Lingerie
This can be tricky as it involves Size etc but if you’re together long enough then knowing your size shouldn’t be a hugely difficult task! Shops generally bring out Valentines stock so it should be easy to pick something that’s new and shop assistants are generally helpful when they see a guy alone in Lingerie! Penneys (Primark) have new D-F size Lingerie in stock now too and their range is always so pretty!
Homemade Sweets Jar
This is a spin on the typical Box of Chocolates! I love all things homemade & personalised, so a Jar filled with my favourite sweets / biscuits etc would be perfect! Shows much more effort than grabbing a box of Milk Tray off a shelf and it’s not something I’d end up making for myself! Maybe some homemade treats could be thrown in there and even some healthy nibbles! No fruit though..
Romantic Weekend / Night Away
There’s nothing as exciting as a surprise Night / Weekend away somewhere! Whether it’s a roadtrip to the other end of Ireland or somewhere hot and abroad or Parisian, either way it’s somewhere away from the norm! Most places have great deals if you shop around so it doesn’t have to be too expensive! Some together time is always a good shout for sure anyways, wherever it may end up being!
Home Cooked Meal
This means effort! An attempt at my favourite meal, something homecooked with a few glasses of Wine is always good in my books! Sitting in a restaurant when everyone else is there for the same reason doesn’t scream the perfect Valentines Day for me! Simple & Cosy is good! Maybe not actual Spaghetti Letters on a plate though because even I could probably master that one..probably..
Personalised Frame
This is my fav! I made one for my friends for their engagement (similar to the one pictured) I made it all about their ‘Firsts’ First Place they met, First Date etc, I also put in 2 Map pieces, one of the town he is from in Wales & one of the town she is from in Ireland & linked with a Heart along with engagement date (pictured) Great gift to give to your other half as a keepsake and a reminder of all the little things in your relationship!
